With all of your support, my goal of $6,500 has been reached. As of today, we have raised $6,530 for the American Lung Association. I will continue to accept donations until I head out on the ride. Thank you all very much. I never imagined this was possible.

Another 1,000 Miles

Another 1,001 miles under the tires for the month of April. Only 53 days left until the Big Ride begins. Then the real miles will start adding up.

60 DAYS TO GO!

The ride starts in 60 days. I heard it was snowing in Seattle this week.

I have a new set of wheels now and feel much better about the big ride. I did some research and found that I was probably due for a new set of wheels. I had about 15,000 miles on the old wheels and they had been ridden pretty hard. I am very happy that this happened prior to my journey.

Blow Out

After a nice ride on Sunday afternoon - even though it was a little cold, I hung my bike back in its resting space. About an hour later, I heard a loud bang. I figured the tube popped and it was no big deal, but when I went and looked, the whole side of my wheel had been blown out! So I have to pick up a new rim now. Bummer.

Rainy Day

Today was a pretty rainy day. I ended up riding on my inside trainer. I rode 80 miles. With June 23 right around the corner, I think I am ready to go.
