Blow Out

After a nice ride on Sunday afternoon - even though it was a little cold, I hung my bike back in its resting space. About an hour later, I heard a loud bang. I figured the tube popped and it was no big deal, but when I went and looked, the whole side of my wheel had been blown out! So I have to pick up a new rim now. Bummer.

Rainy Day

Today was a pretty rainy day. I ended up riding on my inside trainer. I rode 80 miles. With June 23 right around the corner, I think I am ready to go.

March Miles

With March over, I completed 1,059 miles for the month. Only 84 days to go until I start the big ride. Plane arrangements have been made and I have almost all my gear. It will be here soon.

3 Months and Counting Down

Less than 3 months until I head out to Seattle, Washington to start my big ride. It is definitely getting closer.

Spring is here

Now that spring has arrived, the weather will be getting warmer and that means more bicycle riding. It also means the countdown to the Big Ride is getting closer. As of this Sunday, there are only three months to go. I have raised $3,000 so far! Thanks to everyone for their support.

Two great rides

I have gone on two great rides in the past two days now that my bike is all set up and clean. It is almost like new again.

Bicycle is almost ready to go

I spent the day yesterday (Saturday, March 8) working on getting my bicycle all geared up. Now I have to start riding with the new gear to make sure I am comfortable with it. I put new skinnier tires, new odometer, lights, chain, brakes and handlebar pack. I also cleaned all the grease and dirt that has accumulated over the past year. It is shiny and ready to ride.
